Relationship update? '^'

I think somewhere along the line Oz dropped any and all intent to troll Tavros and it has been replaced by nothing but massive amounts of Rubydere. Tavros and Naha are two of the most important members of Ruby for him, they're the ones that he sort of anchors himself to. He knows that he can always go to them when he needs comfort, when he needs to talk something out, when he needs reassurance. They are slowly becoming grounding pillars of people who will just be there which is something that's insanely important for Oz in terms of his definition of self and belonging. Whenever he does start to get some of his worse memories back I think they're going to be the ones who really help pull him back and keep him from losing himself too much.

Basically, Tavros is his bro forever. He will do anything for Tavros, and he's slowly gaining the confidence that Tavros will do the same for him.

Oz is the best bro. Tavros is very comfortable around him (and also the rest of Ruby) because he feels like he can be himself, which is just... a really dorky thirteen-year-old kid. That's super important to him because he never used to feel like he could be without being in the way on Ruby?? And that kind of changed as he got more comfortable with the team and as the team got a lot squishier. '^'b

He is also kind of one of his pillars because Oz is always there when he has a bad memory! And Oz is always there to try to help. And... Oz is always there to keep his self-worth from crashing, since a lot of his memories could really do that to him. :x So Oz being there is really good for him in a lot of ways.

Tavros will do absolutely anything for Oz and he trusts him with his life.

SO WHERE ARE WE

SORT OF FEELING OUT NEW GROUND. Oz is really ridiculously happy that Drift seems stable and back to his normal tsunbunny self. But he's also going to try to be cautious for a little while at least. It has been a really long time since they were in their old rhythm so he's a little bit rusty on it. also he is super hyper aware that he just does not want to make the same mistakes again at all!1

So he's still going to try to hang around Drift more but probably more in a peripheral way, just sort of at the edges until he gets more comfortable with him again.

IN GENERAL, DRIFT IS IN... A PLACE... RIGHT NOW and he isn't exactly sure where it is! It's all well and good to have his feelings and issues fixed, but the dissonance is kind of off-putting. That said, he doesn't have the insecurity and pettiness to worry that his feelings have been manipulated in any way; HE IS PRETTY SURE THESE ARE HIS HONEST FEELINGS THAT WEREN'T FALSIFIED so he's sort of riding the wave of \o/ WHY NOT \o/

So! With Oz, he wasn't the most prepared to deal with him right away so he sort of panicked :Da BUT HE SOLDIERED ON because he decided!! that upset feelings were stupid and he didn't want them. HE'S... MORE AT PEACE WITH THINGS? He still has some troubles, but they're not so crushing that he can't . . . I guess, see Oz from a different perspective? Before he really didn't want to see him as anything else, but now he can't help it because he just doesn't have the same mindset, if that makes sense :|a His subconscious is obviously not upset with him anymore, and p much only has positive feelings for him!! (Except for Briar, who ended up sliding away from the yangire side and closer to traditional tsun.)

On the conscious side he'd like to be proper friends again, he just has to figure out . . . how . . . DRIFT WOULD BE OKAY WITH OZ JUST HANGING OUT TO THE SIDE while he figures out feelings and settles in again, probably he will pull on your cheeks a lot because that's what friends do right

So how do you plan on having Oz deal with the latest chapters if you ever add them, DO YOU HAVE PLANS...

Compare and contrast Oz's views on the Personae to Flynn's?

Vaaaaaastly different.

This mostly has to do with Flynn being a knight and very involved in the whole Beauty/Maleficent thing and Oz being a lot more team focused but for Flynn the Personae as a whole are a group of people that he is here to serve and support. He regards them all, even the nasty ones, as authority figures in a certain light though there is definite bias towards Beauty as being somewhat above all the rest of the Personae. Largely his thoughts on them trend more towards their stories and situations based on what he's learned from Lloyd and Mithos. He tries at all times to treat the Personae with respect and would probably never severely acting out against them in a game except for if it was something like them putting a sword in his hand and telling him to kill an entire team. Even then if it was clear that the end result of challenging them would be more dangerous at large than carrying out his duty he would grudgingly do it. His end goal is to see that the Personae are brought to a ground where they can be autonomous in his actions and then he wants to try to seek justice for those who, even when granted autonomy, don't seem to show regret for the atrocities they've committed against the teams.

Oz on the other hand doesn't have nearly as proactive a view of the Personae. For him there's some of them who are just like playful adults, like Kitsune and Columbine. They're people he can play with and joke around with but they're definitely above him and different from him. Other ones are definitely more of a 'force to be feared' type of thing, like the Jabberwock. But by and large with Oz there's a distance where he recognizes that They Are In Control and there's not much he can do to fight or challenge that control so by and large he accepts it.

If you were to app a knight who would you app?

I wouldn't, I don't think! The knight role requires a lot of attention that I probably couldn't pay to it right now (my primary is Kit, who is on a team), and while I find the dynamic super interesting to stalk it isn't quite one I am interested in playing with myself :|a I enjoy team interactions waaaay too much, and I honestly don't think any characters I would app would make good knights (Kaito and Mitsuru would've made excellent knights, but they also both have teams, so XD I'm out of knightly characters!)

:|a Kind of curious about Flynn and Spitfire.

They're sort of in a neutral place right now. Spitfire is one of those people who Flynn now has the feeling that Spit's looking for something that Flynn doesn't feel qualified/capable of providing. He still likes Spitfire and enjoys his company but he definitely recognizes that there's more of a gap between them now than there was before so he's a little more reserved and cautious in their interactions. He did enjoy the interactions that they had before so he is going to try to get that back if he can, but by and large he's leaving that to Spitfire's discretion at this point in time, since in his mind it's up to Spitfire what he wants out of their relationship.

It's... kind of in a weird place. An awkward, weird place. Mostly due to Flynn's reactions to Vincent and Spitfire's own wildly conflicting feelings where Vincent's involved. Basically Spitfire opened up about something that he's been holding in for month aaaand kind of got told to shut the fuck up about it. So he will. He just... doesn't know how to get back to that point of trusting Flynn enough to open up again. That withdrawn, withheld, reservation is... uncomfortable for him.

It's especially difficult since he did enjoy Flynn's company so much. He liked spending time with him. It was really comfortable and fun. He does, very much want to get back to that point. He's not sure if it's something Flynn wants, and he's never been very certain of his read on Flynn.

Oz is really ridiculously glad to have Lelouch around and he continues to be really amazingly won over by him and just all around happy that things between them are sort of working out in a way that winds up really being fortuitous for both of them as well as Gil.

IDK I have babbled at you a lot about this in gchat but Lelouch is really someone that Oz feels like he can trust. He feels comfortable opening up to Lelouch about a lot of issues that he's having that he hasn't even mentioned to anyone else, like his concerns about Gil's mind control and his own relationship with C.C., mostly because Lelouch is someone who seems to really care but also someone who's a capable listener and an intelligent person.

He also really gets a kick out of teasing Lelouch! Oz is completely a hair pulling boyfriend, the more he taunts you the better he likes you. He is super glad that he can have that sort of relaxed banter with Lelouch even when they sometimes cross the line and it gets into the territory of just being completely topped by how much Lelouch accepts him and really does like him.

Though there is also some uncertainty in their relationship which does come out at times. Namely how they play the massive games of feelings chicken and "no you go" "no you go" when it comes to admitting what they want out of fear of rejection. I think that Oz is slowly starting to gain more confidence in that area mostly because it's becoming pretty clear that Lelouch really does want him and care for him and his feelings are something he can talk about more freely.

He's pretty much in love, but it's gonna take them a little while to get around to saying that I imagine.

Lelouch just . . . likes Oz? Oz is really easy to be fond of. He has the combination of playfulness and depth that Lelouch is attracted to. All the stuff with Gil coming back was just handled so well on Oz's part (encouraging Lelouch to confess!) that Lelouch just immediately became drawn to him. Lelouch also just . . . sorely needs a normal friend, a person he can trust that can stand their own against him and are not all fucked up on Geass or too overwhelmed with their own issues.

They also both have an extremely similar fear of rejection, h-hence the ridiculous feelings chicken, yeah. It is SO HARD for Lelouch to push past his self-hate/rejection fear with people that he doesn't know well. So Oz is in this weird place where he's won a lot of trust, physical affection, etc, but hasn't . . . actually broken down the barriers one has to get past with Lelouch in order to get there. So Lelouch is kind of uneasy and terrified and off-balance, even while he is just genuinely happy with sort of a bizarre/normal relationship.

flynn flynn what do you think of arry!!!

Arry~ Flynn is really fond of Arya. He does think she's a little young to be a full fledged knight but he really does admire her dedication and willingness to work hard at improving herself. He really does want to be someone she can look up to as a mentor and he wants to support her as she looks to work toward being a knight and finding herself.

He doesn't really have any childhood memories back yet but I imagine once he gets more he'll really take to looking after Arya and keeping an eye on her since Flynn was someone who really devoted himself to knighthood at a young age. He'll probably start to see a little bit of himself in her which will only make him want to help her out all the more.

In short Flynn loev Arya as a tiny little squire type thing.

OZ LOEV ECHO. I think he's pretty much completely pushed himself past the awkwardness due to the whole Zwei situation (repressrepress) so he's just fond of her now. He really wants to support Echo and see her happy. He definitely isn't going to stop flirting with her anytime soon but he still hasn't entirely clued into the 'oh wait does she like me?' thing though it is something that's tickling at him a little bit. But regardless she is a cute girl and she should have fun so Oz will do that!!

Flynn is very fond of Hazel! Hazel seems like a very nice kid if a little bit clutzy at times. But overall Flynn has a positive impression of him. He definitely wants to support Hazel in any way that he can, and that includes helping out with his memories and the mafia in any way that he's able to. He is getting a growing concern and curiosity about the whole mafia business though. Especially with Chariot's heart and the memory he heard about from Hazel he really does have an interest in finding out exactly what went on in their pasts if they're willing to tell him.

He feels bad about opening up to Flynn at... all, including memory taking with him, but it's not really a trust issue or anything. Hazel feels bad because he's like... gosh Flynn is such a nice guy! God Oz actually has like. insane levels of dere as far as Naha is concerned. Physical comfort and presence is something that has become really important to him in terms of solidifying his sense of belonging in a space. And Naha offers that so willingly and so easily that he really loves her a lot :x Oz just inherently knows that if something is ever wrong, if he's ever upset for whatever reason he can go to Naha and it will help him feel more solid and grounded. Like I mentioned above, she and Tavros are his two pillars for Ruby. They both ground him on the team and cement his sense of belonging.

Oz dooes worry about Naha a little at times. He's seen her power and he knows she's unstable so he wants to help with that in any way that he can. She's also someone that he is kind of cautious about upsetting because he knows that insisting on any kind of sacrifice will upset her, even if it's something that he may want to do. And he definitely doesn't want to screw up his relationship with her in the way that he feels he's messed up in the past with Wrath and Yukio. But this isn't a bad thing for him really because Oz still does need to work a little on prioritizing his sense of self.

Pursuant to the first point I think Oz is going to try to be a bit more solid for Naha going forward. He wants to make sure that even though he can rely on her that she can rely on him too. :x

I would say... All of Ruby is very important to Naha and has informed her identity in Aather, but Oz was probably the most instrumental in really crystallizing the Nahamama presentation/interpretation of it. Not just through his reactions to Naha deciding to stay female, but even before that. Like, for example, Naha is also very protective and affectionate toward Tavros, but Tavros doesn't provide a framework for it as well as Oz does. In a way, Oz has been one of the most important people in terms of providing Naha's feelings for Ruby structure.

Also, while again Oz isn't the ONLY one, Oz has been very important in bringing out Naha's physically supportive, affectionate side. It's kind of hard to explain just how, because he didn't ask for it exactly, but it seemed to be what he needed; Naha adapted to that, and it became a way to deal with affection for Ruby. (Especially mostly non sexual displays of affection, which are a little more fraught.)

Oz has also established himself as sort of an oldest child on Ruby (where Oz, Tavros and Zuko are really the Kids. Fuuma is also important, but not quite the same, particularly in the context of his evolution to Kamui, and C.C. is much more like co-mom). The oldest child role is kind of particular, and makes Oz... hm. Almost a leadership figure? Not one that has authority over Naha, but the one who's closest to equal, and Naha is mooooostly willing to roll with letting take charge, when he takes it. It also means, though, that Oz has more power to hurt Naha or stir up feelings of betrayal when they disagree.

OVERALL, Naha loev Oz a lot, and he's a very important member of the team and Naha's surrogate family. '-'

Idk if I ever did first impressions at you but Zuko came onto Ruby at a really unique time for Oz because it was when Oz became The Oldest Ruby so he was just SUPER TIED UP in the fact that he Could Not Screw Up with Zuko. As a result he's always tried to be really aware of how Zuko's doing, how he's fitting in, things like that. Oz wants to make sure you are happy Zuko and that you feel welcome in Ruby :x :x

He also really appreciates how Zuko's been someone who's been supportive of him as well. New Ruby has definitely helped solidify Oz's sense of self and place on Ruby and Zuko's a big part of that. He's a little awkward and cute about it at times but really that's just an endearing point and makes Oz like him all the more. I think like Naha Oz is really going to try to make more of an effort to pay attention to Zuko's wants and needs since he's sort of been having his own crap go explodey lately.

Also Mother's absolute hands down favorite is Vincent. Vincent is someone who inherently gets her twisted ways and is a lot more receptive to her abuse than other people. Plus he's just so polite and courteous and knows exactly how to behave around a proper lady. :3a Erika, Beatrice, Euphemia, Lelouch, Mikage, and Ferris are people she's also fond of. She sort of has a long suffering love hate thing with Yuri because of Vincent, and there's a very complicated sort of deal going on with Mithos because he used to be one of her favorites until he decided to defy her in her secrets game.

Lloyd Irving!1 CURSE YOU AND YOUR DUMB LUCK.

There is a lot that Mother does not like about Lloyd Irving. His presumptuous attitude. His impulsiveness. His lack of manners. His disregard for good education. His entirely lack of fashion sense in hair and clothing. :E But as obnoxious and uppity and distasteful as he is, he's still one of her children. And the comment about trying to shift her in her role definitely got her attention because if there's anything Mother doesn't like it's being coerced into doing something in what she feels is the wrong way. So depending on how things go Lloyd might find himself picked up as a pet project for 'fixing' like Yuri and Sakura are.

Aren't you glad, Lloyd Irving?

FROM FLYNN SCIFO'S SIDE Lloyd is awesome. Flynn is honestly really really glad with how his relationship and level of comfort with Lloyd and Mithos has been developing recently. Lloyd is definitely a knight that he respects wholeheartedly, even if you won't let me call you my senior, and he regards Lloyd's opinion and perspective of Aather very highly. I think right now he definitely looks to Lloyd for a lot of guidance while he's trying to reposition himself in Aather to cohere more seamlessly with the communal system that's in place. He's also taking Lloyd's guidance in how to deal with his issues re: Maleficent pretty seriously so he's definitely going to try to give her a very serious second chance and approach that matter from a different angle.

Basically Lloyd is awesome and Flynn Scifo is glad that he had the chance to meet Lloyd Irving and become his friend.

Mother is fond of Erika! She definitely seems like someone who understands the importance of polite society and sees the merit of the games that Mother puts on. However, she does feel like Erika is perhaps a bit too overeager in her desire to see people punished for their misbehaving ways. But patience can be taught~ Mother's definitely looking forward to how Erika performs in some of her future games. She's got her eye on you, and she's hoping that she's not disappointed.

Erika... disliked Mother a lot after the first game she was in. Because she lost!! It was the first game she lost and it was totally not her fault, who even gives people such dumb secrets to try to figure out! If you're going to make it a game to tear real secrets out of people, make them a little more interesting, geez. And also less ambiguous! (She had a set of three secrets that were all about failing to protect people in some way.) But she does like the kind of games Mother runs in general better than most games, there's just always been something about them that leaves her kind of disappointed. Likewise in the flower meaning game, Erika gives zero fucks about flowers and symbolism, but she did enjoy that obviously they were meant to figure out what other people felt about them! And Jasper won because of her guesses on that part so that was okay.

SO she has both positive and negative feelings on Mother. She's hoping that whatever game she's leading up to next will be better. :B

Update me, Flynn!!

UM GOSH Flynn kind of likes Kazuki a lot a lot. At first he was a little bristly at him I think mostly becuase Kazuki didn't seem to have the same uber knight attitude taht Flynn has towards Sterling and his duties there. BUT!! Kazuki has since proven that he's a really dependable and upbeat guy in his own right so Flynn is definitely proud that he can count Kazuki as his fellow knight in service of Beauty. Kazuki is someone that he trusts with matters pertaining to their mutual girlfriend and he knows that Kazuki's someone he can count on in criss situations now thanks to how well he handled himself during plot events and the whole ship thing.

Flynn is a little bit worried about how you seem to be bottling up your feelings and coping with memories/relationships/etc, Kazuki but he doesn't want to push the issue to far since he wants things to remain in a realm that Kazuki is comfortable with. So basically he is jsut going to try to be tehre for Kazuki as someone who can support him and be open and available if he ever needs to rant about Haruki, Mikado, his memories, Personae, whatever. Flynn will be your bro Kazuki! You have his loyalty.

OKAY I AM DOING THIS

Kazuki... didn't really dislike Flynn at first either, but he was put off by the whole Super Knight thing and didn't realize that Flynn is just... like that, so he pretty much mocked Flynn lightly for it. And resented being brushed aside because of his preferred way of doing things instead. But the more he knew Flynn was genuine, the more he respected him! And just because he has the whole SHINING ARMOR thing going on, it doesn't mean Flynn can't be light hearted or fun in his own way. So Kazuki appreciated his priorities more, and I think they proved to each other that they're more than what they appear as! Kazuki trusts Flynn to do right, not just out of obligation or duty, but because he actually wants to. And he knows Flynn is actually reliable and willing to WORK with people rather than take charge without opinion or alternate ways of doing things.

That said, while they still talk about Work Things a bit (that's how he sees it anyway), Kazuki definitely appreciate that they've gotten to the point of... talking about friendship things too! He'd like to hear more about Flynn's life rather than ranting about his own and is sort of embarrassed about how much he ranted at Flynn, but he does feel better and if Super Knight of all people can pull off and be okay with Friends With benefits (with a GUY on top of that), while still being attracted to women... well, it makes Kazuki feel a lot better, actually. But there's definitely a feeling of "oops I overshared" in there, but at least he can trust Flynn won't tell anyone! Because Flynn is an honourable guy.

Flynn what are you current feelings on Yuri.

The fight that they had after Dino's heart game did a lot to help relieve some of the tension that Flynn was feeling in their relationship. He was able to get a much firmer understanding of where he stood with Yuri following that and in general feels more comfortable around him now because basically he was just assuming that a lot of Yuri's frustration directed at him was because of how he was trying to implement a system of justice in Aather and Yuri's resentment at how Flynn handles things like law and order. Yuri congratulating him for making Commandant is something that kind of surprised Flynn because he didn't think that would be something that Aather!Yuri would really approve of. Basically it all just settled a lot of things in Flynn's mind re: how Yuri feels about his ideals and his goals so he's less likely to think Yuri outright disapproves of them.

The whole thread with Dino also kind of made something click in Flynn's head about what might be going on to feed some of the frustration Yuri seems to be feeling toward him. Basically he had really recently gotten back the memory pre-Zaude when Yuri's leaving Zaphias to go fight Alexei and Flynn keeps on trying to insist on him taking some recognition for his actions. When he was talking to Yuri about his relationship with Chariot he sort of saw echoes of that in how Yuri was just sort of brushing the whole thing off as something that didn't bother him. So basically Flynn has this nagging feeling now that there might maybe be some truth to what everyone's been telling him about Yuri actually having feelings about it and Yuri is just being stupid about them because he doesn't think it's something that he deserves.

Odile's game sort of pushed on both of these things because Flynn had sort of had a fight with Guy and was just really high tension because of how Lloyd had disappeared so when he saw Yuri trying to hide his injury he was just fed up. That thread was mostly Flynn just throwing in the towel and putting everything out there for Yuri to see. If it is the case that Yuri is denying his own feelings because he feels that they're undeserved, Flynn is determined to stand by him and support him until Yuri feels that it's something he can pursue. If that's not the case, he's still really determined to stick by Yuri No Matter What because the whole roller coaster of their relationship lately has just been so frustrating and volatile for Flynn that he's sick of it. He doesn't want to continue to distance himself from the guy he remembers as his best friend when there aren't any glaring disagreements between them anymore.

Though there are also Flynn's feelings to factor into this equation and Flynn has. Basically come to terms in his head with the fact that he really loves Yuri Lowell. He's more aware of it at times, but he's also not interested in destroying everything that they've built up in Aather by saying anything about it so he's just going to let his actions speak for himself for the most part. He's trying to sort of get back into a rhythm with Yuri where he can playfully banter a little, where he can be relaxed with Yuri around and where they can depend on each other to a certain extent. However, every so often lately Flynn just gets the overwhelming urge to grab Yuri by the shoulders push him up against the nearest solid object and kiss him.

He's repressing that. For now. But yeah basically Flynn is at Yuri's side forever now and sometimes he really wants to make out with him.
